Students spearhead educational campaigns that extend to the whole campus community, targeting behavioral changes to save energy.
Sustainability Campaign Efforts
"Energy Hog Strikes Again!"
The last few months in 2012, the PowerSave Campus interns visited several PowerSave schools in Arcadia in order to educate younger students about the importance of energy conservation. With the help of the infamous Energy Hog, PSC interns got to interact with bright young kids who demonstrated their interest in being official energy savors. We can't wait to go back!
"Green Campus visits California Green Schools"
In May 2010, Green Campus interns teamed up with Green Schools, to help raise awareness about energy conservation at two elementary schools in Temecula and Lake Elsinore. By hosting a game show with a "secret message," the students eventually learned to "Save Energy, Don't Be an Energy Hog!" For more information and photos, please take a look at our May 2010 newsletter.
An ongoing campaign to educate and empower the student to save energy, our Sustainability Pledge is a survey that encourages individuals to commit to several energy saving behaviors. To learn more, please take our Sustainability Pledge and see if you can go green!
"Be Respected, Not Rejected!" Educational Video
Produced in the spring of 2009, interns filmed a short public service announcement illustrating the impact of households on one's energy bill. The video highlights common energy-wasting practices as well as offers practical suggestions for reducing energy consumption. Please take a look at our video and see if you can reduce your energy bill!
